Metropolitan Innovation Summit Ruhr 2022!

Metropolitan regions striving for sustainable transformation

What are the most promising future-oriented and innovation-driven strategies for metropolitan areas striving for sustainable transformation? How can public-private-academic partnerships support such development paths? And what lessons did we learn from the pandemic for making metropolitan innovation systems more resilient?

From 31 August - 3 September 2022, experts and stakeholders from metropolitan regions aiming at smart sustainable transformation were invited to this exceptional conference in the heart of the Ruhr innovation ecosystem, one of the most exciting regions in Germany with long experiences of transformation governance. Representatives from Greater Manchester Region, Tel Aviv, Pittsburgh, Silesia, Tsukuba and Randstad came together to share ideas and strategies and to establish a network of regions in transformation.

You can find the detailed programme here.

The Summit was jointly organized by the Federal State Government of North-Rhine Westphalia, the Ruhr Regional Association and the University Alliance Ruhr with its internationally recognized transdisciplinary Competence Cluster Metropolitan Research.
